After spending the mid-60s in San Francisco, rubbing elbows with the psychedelic musicians of the era, Warren Paul Harris spent a few months as roadie for the Grateful Dead before relocating to Los Angeles. Twenty years in the music business working for JBL, Motown, Ike Turner, Sly Stone, members of Santana, Journey and Huey Lewis gave way to a career in computers. But photography was always a first love. Relocating to Texas in 1999, he discovered what so many before him have realized. Texas is an amazing state of natural – and not so natural - beauty. And he set off to capture the minutiae of the Lone Star State through his lens. Texas As I See It – a critically acclaimed coffee table book, was the result.
Texas as I See It is a celebration of the minutiae that makes the Lone Star State unique. The remarkable finds and oddities that salt and pepper Texas are seen in his book.
