Camille Klein Founder's ScholarshipFounding member Camille Klein was a strong moving force behind the inception of this Club. She worked tirelessly to make certain that the club followed legal guidelines and convinced her attorney, Duncan Webb, to become the Club's attorney, pro bono. Camille worked with him to set up our Articles of Incorporation and helped write the Constitution and Bylaws for the Club. She served as Ways & Means Chairperson and conceived the idea of the Basket Auction, which she chaired in both 2001 and 2002. Camille did many other things within the Club, but she is best remembered, not for what she did, but for who she was to those of us fortunate enought to have known her. Camille lost her battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in May of 2003. In her memory, the Camille Klein Founder's Scholarship was established in 2003 to honor our great friend. The Scholarship is awarded to one (or more) nursing student(s) attending Collin College. Camille contributed to society through her work as a nurse and she contributed to the local community through her efforts and vision in establishing our Club. We intend for the Scholarship to be a fitting tribute to her memory and many contributions. Donations to the ongoing Scholarship Fund and the selection process for awardees are handled by the 1st Vice President/Scholarship |
